our origin story
History
In 2023 we (candace and Keiyana) met at a queer oakland day party and immediately hit it off. after a few friend dates we realized we had more in common than what we thought. Yes, we’re virgo femmes, but we also had similar career experiences and craved connection with folks that matched our “stage of life”.
enter Femmepire hq! we found ourselves in conversations with many femmes who were in similar places. this motivated us to envision a space, both physical and virtual, where femmes can dream big and be part of a network where these dreams are supported.
we took this dream and ran wth it! initially, our common professional experience was what motivated the femmepire launch. we each come from opposite industries but experienced the same type of workplace abuse, gaslighting, and limited opportunities. we shared similar stories of having professional ambition, and at the same time having our shine dimmed at every corner. femmepire is here to say - no more! we are no longer begging for a seat at the table, we’re building our own and you can sit with us!
Mission
Femmepire’s mission is to elevate and celebrate queer femmes in their 30’s and 40s + those who love them by providing professional development, organic networking opportunities, and curated elevated social experiences. Femmepire exists to empower and encourage femmes of all ages, genders, and backgrounds to step into their full, fierce, and powerful selves, dream big, and live in abundance. By creating a network where femmes feel liberated from limiting narratives and expectations, our hope is that the connections you make here will have a lasting impact, both personally and professionally. femme is now.
